If at the time The Bald Soprano was a fiction, nowadays it is reality. Our lives are The Bald Soprano and after all these years, the hairdo is still the same. The absurd is somehow supressed eroticism, obsession, fear and the desire to be noticed. The ideology of happiness and pleasure is an illness that pesters the 21st century, stirring anxiety in the society. Hence a person who enjoys and is happy has become the world standard. The masses are not just the newest
asylum but also an individual’s drug. I exist only when I am noticed and when I prove to the others that I am enjoying myself. We live in the era of spectacle where the first public appearance is extremely important for building one’s image and in a time of condemnation to others. But what happens when there is no one – who do we then become?
