The performance Whore, a solo play on a straightforward woman, is based on Bulc’s adaptation of Vedrana Rudan’s columns written by this controversial Croatian writer and publicist for the weekly Nacional. They are collected in the book When a Woman is a Whore/When a Man is a Fag (the publishing house Goga published its translation in Slovenian) in which the author’s sharp pen deals with subjects such as machismo, abortion, the Catholic church, child-rearing, the cult of youth, political corruption, social conditions in the time of transition, behavioural patterns in conservative society, and more.
