The poetry of Slovenian women poets had long figured as an "addendum” to men's poetry. It was The Anthology of Slovenian Women's Poetry in three volumes, edited by Irena Novak-Popov (Ljubljana, Založba Tuma, 2004-2007) that brought to light its exuberance. The contemporary woman is liberated from ties of the past; every year several collections of poems and other works by women are published. The writing of literature is no longer men's work but ever more the means of human expression, since as the saying goes, we are not humans without women. The Anthology forms the main source for women's poetry, the selection of which was guided by the principles of content diversity and regard for female sensitivity and tenderness. Vita Mavrič and Jani Kovačič bring these poems alive in a new and attractive way. Women's poetry has changed from being forgotten to being unforgettable.
